Bruce Blackwell
President | CEO | Founder
Bruce has been involved in all aspects of theatre for over three decades. He has worked with performers of all ages, as an actor, musician, director, designer, and producer.
He has made his mark in theaters -- from local high schools and colleges to community theaters and professional venues.
Luminary Arts is his vision.
As a seasoned theater veteran, he wants to share his passion by bringing high quality theatrical experiences to local audiences, create a training studio for blossoming artists, and help other professional artists bring their craft to North County San Diego.
Bruce oversees the daily operations and programs of Luminary Arts.
Amy Throckmorton, M.B.A.
Vice President | Teaching Artist
Musical Theater
Amy has performed, produced, and taught music and theatre for over 30 years.
She graduated with the academic distinction of Magna Cum Laude from USC earning degrees in theatre and music,
Amy began a professional singing career that took her around the globe. She has performed onstage from New York to Los Angeles, in Tokyo, and on the high seas with Holland America and Disney cruise lines.
In addition to private voice instruction, Amy directs our youth and adult performances.
Rebecca Noland
Vice President
Teaching Artist | Fundraising
Rebecca has over 30 years of experience working in the performing arts.
She has worked as both a professional actor and dancer, taught high school theater, and worked in Arts Administration in both the performing arts and education departments
at the California Center for the Arts.
She earned a B.A. in Theater Arts with a focus in education and acting, and a B.A. in Digital Cinematography. She loves being a part of an organization that enriches the community through arts education and performance.
Jill Blackwell, M. Ed.
Secretary
School Programs Curriculum Consultant
Jill holds a multiple education credentials from California State University San Marcos and is Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) certified.
She has been a classroom teacher in the City of San Marcos for over 20 years. Jill was a member of the San Marcos Unified School District’s VAPA committee.
Throughout her life, she has studied many aspects of both visual and performing arts. Jill has a passion for helping children reach their full potential and believes that the arts provides a place for all children to feel challenged and accepted.
Jennifer Crumrine
Treasurer
Jennifer has been involved in Youth Theater since her oldest daughter turned eight and could be in a show. Not only does she volunteer her time with Luminary Arts as a Summer Camp coordinator, but she has also volunteered with other theater companies around the area, including Centerstage Productions, Patio Playhouse, and New West Ballet.
She has done everything from moving sets backstage to creating props and set dressing. She also loves being on stage, having performed recently with Star Theatre Company in Oceanside, Patio Playhouse, and Luminary Arts.
Before having kids, Jennifer’s life looked very different, having graduated from Mills College with a degree in Computer Science, post-college, she worked at Hewlett-Packard and Nike, using her technical skills to write supply chain management software programs.
